Back at the dock he filleted the fish based on how we were going to prepare it. Capt Steve knows when to jump in for advice and when to hang back and let you enjoy yourself, which we did the entire time out with him.
My father in law caught the biggest spanish mackerel I've ever seen within a few minutes of setting up and we caught many more over the next few hours, including mangrove snapper and trout. Within 15 minutes of leaving the boat ramp we were on the fish.
He asked us what we wanted out of the trip (any species we wanted to target, did we want to keep fish to eat, and if so how much we wanted to keep). His boat is clean, organized and super spacious, more than enough room for the two of us. On the morning of, he was ready for us as soon as we arrived with a livewell filled with fresh bait he just netted. Capt Steve communicates promptly via phone and text, so booking and confirming charter needs, times, pickup location was super easy. Leading up to the charter I could tell I picked the right captain. I took my father in-law out for a morning of fishing with Captain Steve during July 4th weekend and had a great time.
